In celebration of its 50th anniversary, the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) is gearing up for a spectacular Annual General Meeting and Gala event to be held in Abuja.
The event is scheduled to take place from Thursday, September 21st, to Saturday, September 23rd, 2023, at the prestigious International Conference Center (ICC) in the capital city.With the theme “50 years young, Ready for more,” this year’s AGM/Congress promises to be a momentous occasion for the advertising industry in Nigeria.
The Association is honored to host the Honorable Minister for Information and National Orientation, Mr. Mohammed Idris, as the Special Guest of Honour. In addition to Mr. Idris, numerous government dignitaries are expected to grace the 50th Anniversary AGM/Gala.As part of the commemorative activities, AAAN will pay a courtesy visit to the Presidency.
This visit presents a unique opportunity to engage in discussions concerning the communication industry’s growth, its impact on the nation, and the strategic positioning of the industry for the future.Mr. Steve Babaeko, President of the Association, emphasized the significance of this year’s AGM, marking five decades of achievements and milestones in the industry. He highlighted the role of advertising veterans in contributing to the industry’s intellectual and socio-economic growth.
The 50th Anniversary AGM aims to celebrate past successes while setting ambitious goals for the next 50 years said the Chairman of the Events Planning Committee, Mr. Doyin Adewumi, who further revealed that leading experts in various fields will lead discussions on the theme, “African Initiative to the World.”
“The panel of speakers and panelists includes distinguished figures such as Prof. Mustapha Akinwunmi, Mr. John Ugbe, Ms. Bolanle Austen-Peters, Mr. Bayo Omoboriowo, Mrs. Nnenna Onyewuchi, and Mr. Jay Chukwuemeka, all set to provide valuable insights and unconventional solutions for the industry’s advancement.
“To enhance the day’s significance, a Unity Song, co-produced by Colbams Asuquo and the Association, will be launched, promoting togetherness, peace, and harmony in the nation.In recognition of meritorious service, past presidents will be honored and presented with meritorious awards. Young practitioners who have demonstrated exceptional leadership will also receive recognition at the AGM/Congress.The Association’s commitment to capability building is evident as a career fair will kick off the AGM’s activities at the National Open University in Abuja.
