It was an evening of admiration and praise at the dinner hosted by the National Pension Commission (PenCom) in honour of Mr. Peter Osamuede Aghahowa, who recently retired from the Commission after 35 years of dedicated service, coinciding with his 60th birthday.
The Director of Finance, Dr. Charles Emukowhate, speaking on behalf of the Acting Director General, Omolola Oloworaran, highlighted Aghahowa’s commitment to excellence, noting that he consistently found solutions to challenges. Emukowhate also emphasized that despite his retirement, Aghahowa’s expertise would still be sought after in future endeavours, whether in politics or business.
Dr. Emukowhate also thanked Aghahowa’s family for their unwavering support, which enabled him to excel in his career. Testimonials were shared by his former colleagues at the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), who praised his professionalism, calm demeanor, and ability to achieve results even under pressure.
In his response, Aghahowa expressed gratitude to God for His grace and acknowledged the support of his family and colleagues throughout his career. He also looked forward to dedicating more time to his church, the International Church of Christ (ICOC), where he has been a diligent member.
The celebration was a testament to the respect and admiration Aghahowa garnered during his illustrious career in PenCom.
