APAPA CUSTOMS COMMAND RAKES IN N37.3BN REVENUE APRIL IN 2019

The new Customs Area Controller of the Apapa Area1 Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Comptroller Mohammed Abba Kura who took over from his predecessor, Comptroller Abubakar Bashir currently an Acting Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) adopted the new tactical approach in other to earn higher revenue in subsequent months which yielded N37,391,824,523.78 (Thirty seven billion, three hundred and ninety one million, eight hundred and twenty four thousand, five hundred and twenty three naira seventy eight kobo) in the month of April this year 2019.

Nigerian News Times which received a statistical analysis through the Public Relations Officer, DSC Nkeiru Nwala shows that the new Apapa Area Controller who has changed his strategy is working assiduously to build on the existing standard in maximum revenue collection he met and promised to renew his plan for uptimum trade facilitation, ensure total compliance by Stakeholders, frustrate illegal activities as a driving force to greater productivity.

Kura who had assured of continuity, has in few weeks ago promise to bring back the traditional Stakeholders monthly meeting where the Service, Freight Forwarders as well as the media Rob minds to brainstorm on important issues of acceleration of efficiency in service delivery.

The statement had further disclosed that the new management of Comptroller Abbas Jurassic is devising a robust method to promote excellence through the Federal Government’s “Executive Directive” on the aspect of the Ease of Doing Good Business and by making the Command b more business friendly for investors to patronize.

It is on record that, going by the nation economic imbalance and business degradation, in January 2019 the Command polled N32.5billion. In the same corresponding period under review of 2018, the total amount of N31billion was collected as revenue.

Therefore in February 2019 a total of N27.5billion was recorded and same month of 2018 N24.8billion was earned, however, in March N34.6billion was realized and N25.9billion was generated in 2018. In the month of April this year 2019 the sum of N37.3billion was raked in while in 2018 N28.4billion was settled into the Federation Account
