The Asaba Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, President Emmanuel Moweta
Emmanuel Moweta, President, Asaba Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ASACCIMA) has appealed to manufacturers in Nigeria not to compromise the quality of their products for gain.
“Not compromising the quality of products for gain will help to boost the economy and create room for export of Nigerian products,’’ Moweta told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Asaba.
He added that producing quality products would also help to boost the business of manufacturers.
“Manufacturers stand to gain when they produce and sustain quality products.’’
The president explained that compromising quality for gains would not only reduce sales but would also make consumers lose confidence on locally produced goods.
“Do not ever compromise the quality of your products for gains because you have the mentality that Nigerians are going to consume any product.
“Nigerians are more interested in quality today than in the past; everybody wants to get value for his money,’’ he said.
Moweta urged the relevant regulatory bodies to ensure strict compliance with quality products in order to boost the confidence of Nigerian consumers on locally produced goods.
He urged consumers to report cases of sub-standards products to the appropriate authority.
