AVIATION:Why Sirika plans to reshuffle Three CEOs, 34 directors, before May 29?

As we are less with ten days to the end of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and less than a week for the Ministers of the Federation to hand over to Permanent Secretaries in their Ministries, there are palpable signs that  that Minister of Aviation and Aerospace, Sen. Hadi Sirika, planned reshuffle some top positions in the agencies under the his superintendent as a sign of good-bye.

According to the sources familiar with the Ministry within Abuja disclosed to one of our correspondents in confident on Friday that the shakeup may likely see at least three CEOs relieved of their appointments after this weekend while about 34 directors in the six agencies will either appointments terminated or redeployed to other directorates within the ministry.

The correspondent further noted that nevertheless some of CEOs were aware of the plans and have prepared for the ultimate.

One of the CEOs, correspondent gathered, would be concluding his four year tenure by this weekend maybe with possibility of getting tenure renewal of the appointment.

The affected six agencies and their directorates are as follows:

FAAN has eight directorates; Directorate of Commercial & Business Development, Directorate of Finance and Accounts, Directorate of Engineering Services, Directorate of Airport Security Services, Company Secretary/Legal Adviser, Directorate of Human Resources & Administration, Directorate of Airport Operations and Directorate of Revenue.

Then, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has six directorates namely; Airworthiness Standards, Operations, Licensing & Training, Aerodrome & Airspace Standard, Air Transport Regulation, Finance & Accounts and Human Resources and Administration.

While Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has five directorates namely; Directorate of Safety and Electronic Services, Directorate of Operations, Directorate of Human Resource/Administration, Directorate of Finance & Account and Legal Advisory.

The newly rebranded “NSIB”; with four directorates, which are; Directorate of Engineering, Directorate of Operations, Directorate of Human Resource & Administration and Legal Advisory.

Under Nigerian Meteorological Agency (Nimet), there are six directorates, which are Weather Forecasting Services, Applied Meteorological Services, Research and Training, Directorate of Human Resource and Administration, Directorate of Finance and Accounts, and Directorate of Engineering and Technical Services, and Directorate of Legal.
Finally, the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria has five directorates.
