Kids and their families get to learn about different cultures across Africa and experience the excitement of creating fun arts and crafts, replicating the remarkable local stories told from a child’s perspective.

With more than a hundred and fifty thousand online views during the last series of My African Stories, there’s more than enough proof that African kids are exceptionally curious and want to explore the world around them! So, come along and experience the thrill as we take a virtual trip from South Africa and Nigeria to Zambia and Mauritius. Watch and discover as four children share their passion for music, sports, important causes and culture with Boomerang fans across the continent.

The first stop to Mzansi is in the bustling city of Johannesburg, where Oratilwe (DJ Arch Jnr)

takes us through his love of music and how he makes moves being a DJ. We learn about his passion, what it takes to mix music, dive in on his talent and get a sense of the musical heritage in this electric city. For the budding DJs out there, you can join DJ Arch by making your own DIY headphones and microphone.

Are you keeping up? Because, before you blink, we’d have landed in sunny Mauritius with an episode that dives into a cultural holiday celebrated by millions worldwide: Diwali, the festival of lights. Mihira guides us through the colourful traditions, delicious foods, decorations, clothing and how they end the night with a beautiful fireworks display. She’ll wrap up her tour with a DIY lantern and clay lamp for all our Boomerang family to make!

Next, we jet off to the vibrant city of Lagos in Nigeria, where we join Tomiwa in his pursuit to protect the planet encourage his peers to do the same. His passion for the cause shines through as he helps clean up the beaches in Lagos. We also discover the importance of fighting plastic pollution and how he rallies the support of other kids to get the job done. Get ready for some great ideas on how to save the planet with a clever DIY piggy bank and bin!

And then, we finally say au revoir in Lusaka, Zambia, which is home to Agatha who is obsessive about Kyokushin Karate, a new craze in the country – with good reason! Agatha shows Boomerang fans how amazing her sport is, from her dojo to the uniform to practicing the moves. She will share what it takes to be a champion. In fact, you can fake it until you make it because you can make your own DIY medal and yoga mat strap as well!
