- BUA Foods Plc, a leading food manufacturing company in Nigeria, has taken a significant step towards expanding its production capabilities by signing an agreement with IMAS, a renowned Turkish flour milling equipment manufacturer. This partnership will lead to the construction of four state-of-the-art wheat and flour milling factories with a combined milling capacity of 3,200 tonnes per day.
This expansion is part of BUA Foods’ strategic plan to tap into new markets following its debut on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX). The new factories will enhance the company’s manufacturing capacity, enabling it to deliver more high-quality products that address food challenges in Nigeria.
The agreement was signed during a formal ceremony attended by top executives from both BUA Foods and IMAS. This move underscores BUA Foods’ commitment to growth and its determination to expand production capacities across all its business divisions.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Abdul Samad Rabiu, Chairman of BUA Foods Plc, stated, “This partnership with IMAS is a testament to our dedication to improving food security in Nigeria. These new factories will significantly boost our capacity to continue producing high-quality flour products while creating additional job opportunities across the country.”
He added, “This investment is a step towards our target of increasing our share of the Nigerian flour market. The addition of these four mills will enable us to produce high-quality flour, offering us the flexibility to meet various potential flour needs.”
A representative from IMAS also commented, “We at IMAS are happy to once again contribute to BUA Foods’ expansion drive aimed at ensuring that more people in Africa have access to affordable and healthy food.”
This strategic expansion not only reinforces BUA Foods’ position in the Nigerian market but also demonstrates its commitment to supporting the nation’s food security goals and creating a sustainable future for its citizens.
