Cadbury Nigeria Plc has announced the appointment of Ms. Bunmi Lawson as a Non-Executive Director on its Board of Directors, effective June 1, 2024. This appointment was confirmed by shareholders during the Company’s most recent Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Lagos, as stated by Mr. Adedotun Sulaiman, Chairman of Cadbury Nigeria.
Ms. Lawson currently serves as the pioneer MD/CEO of EDFIN Microfinance Bank Ltd, Nigeria’s first specialized education microfinance bank. Her previous role was as the Managing Director of ACCION Microfinance Bank, where she played a crucial role in its expansion to a national level, spanning 23 states with 62 branches. Her extensive career also includes being an Executive Director at FATE Foundation Ltd/Gte and a co-owner and Executive Director at VLA Lawrence and Associates, a leading HR services firm.
Frederick Mordi, Head of Corporate Communications and Government Affairs at Cadbury Nigeria, highlighted Ms. Lawson’s impressive 32-year career spanning finance, insurance, marketing, auditing, and banking. She holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from IESE Business School, University of Navarra, Spain, and is an alumnus of Lagos Business School (LBS). Ms. Lawson is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Institute of Credit Administration of Nigeria, among other prestigious memberships.
Mr. Sulaiman expressed his confidence in Ms. Lawson’s expertise, stating, “Ms. Lawson brings on board a wealth of experience, and we look forward to her contributions to the growth of the business.”
