In a significant development, the Acting Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, has reaffirmed his commitment to forging robust connections with the government and people of Plateau State. This pledge came to light during a courtesy visit by His Excellency, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, to the Customs Headquarters in Abuja on September 29, 2023.
Upon warmly welcoming Governor Caleb Manasseh and his delegation to the Nigeria Customs Service’s Corporate Headquarters, the Acting CGC emphasized the remarkable progress achieved by the agency during its first 100 days in office.
He also underscored the agency’s dedication to revitalizing its operations by engaging in collaborative efforts with stakeholders and governors from various states across the nation.In response to Governor Caleb Manasseh’s request to include Plateau State in the list of regions receiving Customs’ humanitarian support, the Acting CGC promptly assured the governor of the agency’s swift intervention.
He emphasized the pivotal role that the Customs Service plays in distributing essential food and non-food items to communities in need.In a reciprocal gesture, Governor Caleb Manasseh expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the ongoing efforts to enhance the Customs institution.
He sought continued support and partnership from the Customs Service to further strengthen Plateau State’s economy and security.This visit signifies the Acting CGC’s unwavering dedication to fostering collaborative ties with state governments, ultimately bolstering trade and ensuring security along Nigeria’s borders throughout the entire federation.
