The Gombe Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has begun an investigation into Solomon Yohana for allegedly impersonating a staff member of the Commission. The suspect was apprehended on August 19, 2024, in the Guyuk Local Government Area of Adamawa State by the Department of State Services (DSS) and subsequently handed over to the EFCC for further investigation.

Upon his arrest, several incriminating items were recovered from Yohana, including a fake EFCC identification card, counterfeit EFCC letterheads, a fake EFCC polo shirt, and a fraudulent Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering (SCUML) shirt. These items suggest an elaborate scheme designed to mislead and potentially defraud individuals or entities by posing as an EFCC operative.

The EFCC has indicated that Yohana will be formally charged in court once all investigations have been completed. The Commission reiterates its commitment to upholding the integrity of its operations and warns the public to be vigilant against individuals impersonating EFCC officials.
