Electricity supply to manufacturer improved slightly to 10 hour per day as against 9 hour per day in six months of 2018

Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) in its annual reports noticed that the electricity supply to manufacturing sector has improved slightly in the second half of 2018 to 10 hour per day as against 9 hour per day in the country.In the statement excerpted from the 2019 Annual reports for the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held recently in Lagos stated that the electricity supply improved slightly in the second half of 2018 to 10 hour per day as against 9 hour per day recorded in the second half of 2017.

 

“Average number of power outage in the second half of 2018 stabilized between 3 to 4 times per day in the first half of 2017.”

 

The reports also disclosed that the expenditure on alternative energy source in the corresponding half of 2018 from N51.35 billion recorded in the corresponding half of 2017; indicating N1.43 billion recorded or 2.8 percent decline over the period.

 

The statement was endorsed by the Director General of the Association, Segun Ajayi-Kadir said it however increased by N6.74 or 15.6 percent when compared with N43.18 billion recorded in the first half 2018 expenditure on alternative energy source totaled N93.1 billion in 2018 and N117.38 billion in 2017.
