Popular Nollywood actress, Beverly Naya, has berated Lagos lawmaker, Moji Alli-Macaulay, for her submission at the Lagos State House of Assembly plenary session after the anarchy that greeted the #EndSARS protest in the state.

The AmehNews recalls that just like Desmond Elliot, Moji Alli-Maucaly representing Amuwo Odofin constituency had also admonished youths, saying that most of them are high on drugs all the time. She also advised graduates to become professional artisans and designers.

In her reaction to the legislator’s comment, Beverly in her tweet was miffed at her referral of youths as children and berated her for saying that “Children will not shut up or respect her”, and she noted that “respect is earned and none of them have earned it”.

The actress also chastised the lawmaker for seeing nothing wrong with a lawyer becoming a professional tailor or tiler because of lack of opportunities.

She wrote: “According to that woman, I’m high on drugs and so are you guys. It is well.

“We, the ‘children’ will not shut up or respect you, respect is earned and none of you have earned it!

“So someone should study law for example and then become a professional tailor/ tiler due to a lack of job opportunities and she doesn’t see anything fundamentally wrong with that? What a joke!”

The actress also wondered why Lagos lawmakers are quick to call adults “children”.

“And why are all of them so eager to call grown people ‘children’? My understanding is that youths are between 18-35, so how is anyone in this age bracket considered a child? Just a failed attempt at devaluing our opinions and voice, we will not keep quiet. Change must happen!”
