The anticipation mounts as finalists emerge for the highly anticipated National Spokespersons’ Awards (NSAwards) 2024, following the completion of the initial screening process conducted by a panel of esteemed communication experts. The panel, comprising communication scholars, PR practitioners, and media personalities, meticulously evaluated entries to select the most deserving candidates across various categories.

The NSAwards, a collaborative effort between the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR), publishers of PRNigeria, Economic Confidential, and Spokespersons’ Digest, seeks to recognize and celebrate the exceptional contributions of communication professionals and spokespersons nationwide.

Segun Mcmedal, the Chairman of the Awards Committee and former Chairman of NIPR, Lagos Chapter, disclosed that 62 outstanding finalists have been shortlisted from a pool of 224 nominees, spanning 21 categories. Among the prestigious categories is the highly coveted Spokesperson of the Year Award, alongside recognitions for excellence in sectors such as financial services, technology, corporate communication, and political communication.

The rigorous screening process, characterized by stringent evaluation criteria including objectivity, creativity, and campaign effectiveness, ensured the selection of candidates who demonstrated unparalleled professionalism and innovation in their communication strategies. Entries showcased a diverse range of approaches, from addressing contemporary challenges to fostering positive societal change.

Heading the esteemed jury responsible for selecting the category winners is Prof. Mabel Evwierhoma, with Abdulrahman Abdulraheem serving as Secretary. The panel comprises distinguished members such as Prof. Anthony Igyuve, Prof. Saudat Abdulbaqi, Dr. Arthur Martins-Aginam, Kabir Abdulsalam, and Ishola Ayodele, all renowned experts in their respective fields.

The much-anticipated award ceremony is scheduled to take place during the National Spokespersons’ Summit in Abuja from the 25th to the 28th of March 2024, under the theme “Change Narrative, Change Society.” Originating from Spokespersons Digest in 2021, this year’s edition marks the fourth iteration of the prestigious event, poised to honor and celebrate excellence in communication across Nigeria.
