
Speaking to reporters at a ceremony organised by friends of Okoye to mark her 60 years and retirement from active service in FAAN, Okoye, said some workers came into the civil service to play around without knowing why they were there.
She said there was reward for every work done adding that those who came to play around will never be recognised and urged people in service never to stop learning but to continue developing themselves academically

Dr Okoye, frowned at the level of ethnicity and favouritism in service, saying that where anybody came from was not necessary and that every hardworking staff must be appreciated
Dr Okoye, who said she had no regret working in FAAN thank all those that worked with her while in service.
Describing Dr Okoye, one of her sons, Ugo, recalled how she raised them up after the death of their father 21 years ago.
According to Ugo, it was a difficult period but she groomed all of them with the fear of God to become great children today saying that they were taught how to face the reality of life by reading to become somebody.
