Subscribers of Globacom will now be able to receive and watch breaking news from Nigeria’s leading news network, Channels Television, through their mobile phones. This is the result of a unique video news partnership entered into by the Globacom and the 10 times award-winning television station in Nigeria.
The Regional Chief Marketing Officer, Globacom, Mr Ashok Israni, in a statement, said that the Channels TV breaking news on the Glo Mobile was a 24-hour news service meant to keep Nigerians abreast of happenings in their environment and beyond.
Latest video of events from around the country and world would be watched on smart phones. The initiative would ensure that Glo mobile subscribers were not left in the dark about political, economic, social and other developments at all times, the statement said.
“This service would empower our subscribers, considering that information is power. It will keep Glo users ahead of their peers.” It said that the service was in furtherance of Globacom’s commitment to deepening the network experience of its customers.
The statement urged Nigerians to maximise the use of the new service to stay ahead, assuring subscribers of high quality sound and videos. It said customers should text CTV to 50061 to link the service. Customers would be charged N25/week to enjoy this great video service.
Once subscribed, customers would get, at least, two breaking news headline daily with a url link that would open the video once clicked.
The Channels TV breaking news service consolidated Globacom’s position as Nigeria’s most innovative telecoms service provider.
