Investigation Underway for HS 125 Aircraft Accident Involving Flint Aero in Nigeria-NSIB

Prof. Mansur Matazu, the Director -General of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (Nimet) and Engr. Akin Olateru, the Director -General of the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) in a discussion at the two-day 7th Aviation Summit, held in Abuja

The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has launched an investigation into an accident involving an HS 125 aircraft, with the nationality and registration marks 5N-AMM, owned by Flint Aero.

 

The incident occurred on November 3, 2023, at approximately 08:21 PM local time, while the aircraft was en-route from Abuja to Ibadan.

 

During the final approach to Runway 22 at Ibadan Airport, the aircraft crashed short of the runway. Fortunately, there were no fatalities, and all 10 passengers and 3 crew members were safely evacuated. NSIB is now seeking assistance from the public, encouraging the submission of video clips, relevant evidence, or any information related to the accident to aid in their investigation.

 

 

The Bureau also emphasizes the importance of not speculating on the cause of the incident until the formal report is released and assures that a preliminary report will be provided as soon as possible. Dr. James Odaudu, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at NSIB, made this announcement.
