Key Figures from FIRS, NIDO, MAN, NACCIMA, and More to Headline CICAN Workshop on Federal Tax Reform Impact

The upcoming 2023 CICAN Workshop and Award Ceremony are set to host prominent figures, including Zacchus Adedeji, the Ag Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Uwem-Edimo Sampson, Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora in Russia (NIDO), Mr. Segun Ajayi-Kadiri, Director General of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Dr. Sola Obadimu, Director General of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Dr. Chima Igwe, former Ag Director General of the Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi (FIIRO), and other distinguished speakers.

Scheduled for Tuesday, November 21st, 2023, at the prestigious Radisson Blu Hotel in GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, the event will focus on the theme, “Effects of Federal Tax Reform on Economy.”

In a recent media statement by CICAN National Chairman, Charles Okonji, it was revealed that FIRS Chairman, Mr. Adedeji, will deliver the keynote address, shedding light on the economic impacts of the federal tax reforms and their positive effects on local businesses.

The statement emphasized that the presence of FIRS’s executive chairman is expected to draw influential figures from various sectors, making the workshop a gathering of the who’s who in the country’s business landscape.

Highlighting the lineup of speakers, the Director General of MAN, Mr. Ajayi-Kadiri, will address the effects of the reforms on the local manufacturing sector. Dr. Sola Obadimu, Director General of NACCIMA, will share insights into the impact on the country’s commerce and trading sector.

Other confirmed speakers include Dr. Chima Igwe, who will discuss the effects of Research and Development (R&D) on the economy, and Mr. Uwem-Edimo Sampson, Chairman of NIDO Russia, who will provide insights into the experiences of Nigerians conducting business in Russia.

The statement emphasized that the workshop serves as an opportunity to educate both the media and the public on the nuances of the new tax policy trust. CICAN, a media association with over 60 members across electronic, print, and online platforms, convenes this annual workshop to address challenges in the Industry, Trade, Investment (FMITI), and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) sectors.
