Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, CON, FCIArb. UK, has emphasized the pivotal role of the aviation industry in bolstering Nigeria’s economy through enhanced trade, tourism, job creation, and technological innovation.

Speaking at the Nigeria-Middle East Investors Expo and Awards in Abuja, Keyamo highlighted that the aviation sector is instrumental in facilitating global trade by ensuring swift and efficient transportation of high-value goods such as electronics, pharmaceuticals, and perishable items. He underscored the inseparable link between aviation and tourism, noting that the surge in international tourism is largely driven by expanded air travel capabilities.

Keyamo advocated for investments in automation and artificial intelligence to elevate the efficiency and security of air cargo operations, thereby appealing to potential investors looking to capitalize on these advancements.

During the event, attended by stakeholders and investors eager to explore opportunities within Nigeria’s aviation landscape, Keyamo, represented by Dr. Emmanuel Meribole, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, praised the organizers for fostering a platform that emphasizes collaboration and investment potential in the sector.

Citing Nigeria’s strategic geographic position and ongoing infrastructure initiatives, Keyamo positioned the country as a gateway to vibrant markets in West and Central Africa.
