The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has marked a significant milestone by securing approval from Lagos State University (LASU) to introduce Postgraduate programmes focusing on Entrepreneurship.
This pioneering collaboration aims to offer a comprehensive range of Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Masters, and Doctorate programmes in Entrepreneurship, providing students with a profound understanding of entrepreneurial principles and management strategies essential for thriving in the business world. The curriculum emphasizes practical applications of management theories to augment students’ entrepreneurial prowess.
The groundwork for this initiative was laid in August 2022 when LCCI and LASU inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to co-develop programmes in entrepreneurial education and other mutually beneficial domains. Following this, in May 2023, LCCI initiated classes for the Diploma in Entrepreneurship programme, with the inaugural cohort now progressing into their final year.
Positioned as Nigeria’s premier Chamber of Commerce, LCCI is dedicated to furnishing top-notch business development services, including training and consultancy, to its members and the broader business community. Through its Business Education Services and Training Unit, LCCI extends training, coaching, and mentorship programs tailored for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) nationwide, fostering an environment conducive to entrepreneurial growth.
On the academic front, LASU stands committed to its vision of advancing learning and academic excellence. With a mission to serve as a beacon of excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement, LASU strives to catalyze societal development through education.
Enrollment for the 2023/2024 Diploma in Entrepreneurship Programme is ongoing, while the eagerly anticipated Postgraduate Programme is scheduled to kick off on May 3rd, 2024. Participants in the Postgraduate Programme will benefit from mentorship by seasoned entrepreneurs associated with LCCI, along with access to the Chamber’s diverse resources. They will also have the opportunity to partake in various business exhibitions, including the prestigious annual LCCI Lagos International Trade Fair (LITF).
Moreover, the programme is designed to offer a holistic learning experience, blending traditional classroom instruction with practical entrepreneurial skills acquisition, personalized business counseling, immersive business tours, specialized weekend hybrid classes, dedicated faculty, and seamless access to a user-friendly Learning Management System (LMS).
