Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Seeks NIWA and Shippers Council Collaborates to Boost Partnership

In a bid to foster improved collaboration and address operational challenges within the maritime sector, Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, conducted a productive session with key representatives from the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) and the Nigerian Shippers’ Council. During the meeting, which took place on Tuesday, the heads of these agencies presented their insights and concerns to the Minister.

Expressing his commitment to facilitating smoother operations, Minister Oyetola pledged to actively engage with relevant government bodies to overcome the obstacles impeding the agencies’ efficiency. He underlined the importance of cohesive inter-agency collaboration as a pivotal factor in realizing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s overarching vision for the sector.

Among the distinguished attendees were Emmanuel Jime, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, and Chief George Moghalu, the Managing Director of NIWA. The event also welcomed the presence of Mrs. Magladene Ajani, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, and Cajetan Agu from the council, among other notable individuals.

This engagement marks a significant step forward in aligning efforts across the maritime landscape, with the Minister poised to harness collective expertise to drive advancements within the industry.
