 The National President of NACCIMA, Ide John Udeagbala, NpoM, KSJ, stated during the NACCIMA Diplomatic Luncheon, holding at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja that as you may be aware, NACCIMA is the umbrella body of City, State, Regional and Bilateral Chambers, Business and Professional Associations, and Corporate Entities in Nigeria. For over 60 years, our Association has, through its advocacy role, served as the voice of Nigerian businesses for the enthronement of appropiate government policies for the operations of the private sector. We have also been active in promoting commercial relations between the private sector in Nigeria and its foreign counterparts. We undertake to remain a veritable partner in the realisation of part of your assignment in Nigeria, he added.

Udeagbala disclosed that this NACCIMA Diplomatic Luncheon is one of our strategic engagements with the Diplomatic Community. According to him It is our way of showcasing the capacity and potentials of our members composed of 63 City Chambers, excluding Bilateral Chambers, hundreds of Corporate Members, and 30,000 Business entities to the diplomatic community.

“I sincerely presume that your takeaway from this luncheon will bear fruit and germinate in the short term with your expected intervention for a handshake across the borders that will result in expected increase in foreign direct investment in Nigeria by your nationals. I urge the diplomatic community to look beyond our challenges and focus on our strength in making representation on our behalf to the private sector of your various countries. Without doubt, there are many opportunities in Nigeria that are waiting to be tapped for maximum return on investment.

“My administration will deepen and expand our collaboration with the private sector of your countries through available platforms.

“Our interactions are largely with the Economic/ Commercial and the Consular/ Visa Service sections of your embassies. We seek regular engagement with these sections and exchange of business opportunities as they arise.

Udeagbala further disclosed that NACCIMA is prepared to facilitate opportunities for companies seeking partnership and strategic collaboration.

The president said We seek for your assistance in capacity building, information sharing, and technology transfer for our businessmen, young entrepreneurs, and women, especially now that we are involved in the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).

Accordingly, we propose quarterly meetings with your officials to review the business environment, assess growth, and review the challenges, among other things. We have a Trade Missions Committee that has the mandate to facilitate the meetings, and maintain contact with them, he concluded
