In a strategic move by the National Insurance Commission to enlighten stakeholders on the importance of mandatory insurance coverage, a delegation led by Mr Sunday Thomas, the Commissioner for Insurance recently visited His Excellency Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State.

The primary objective of the visit was to convey the numerous benefits of insurance, including coverage for Public Buildings, Buildings Under Construction, 3rd Party Motor Insurances, and more.

During this significant meeting, the Commissioner for Insurance took the opportunity to extend a formal invitation to Governor Sule for the highly anticipated National Insurance Conference, slated for October 22-24, 2023.

What transformed this routine visit into a riveting story was Governor Sule’s unexpected revelation. Drawing from his personal experiences in the private sector, he shared a captivating tale of adversity and resilience.


As a former Managing Director in charge of a sugar refinery, Governor Sule recounted the devastating moment when the refinery was reduced to ashes in a fierce fire.However, in a twist of fate, insurance emerged as the unsung hero of this narrative.

Governor Sule emphasized how insurance played a pivotal role in their recovery. The insurance company promptly disbursed the necessary claims, enabling the construction of a new and improved sugar refinery.

This powerful testimonial illuminated the transformative potential of insurance, leaving a lasting impact on all those present.
