NCC Boss Maida to Chair SUPERNEWS Nigeria SMEs Confab on June 13

The Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Aminu Maida, will preside as chair at the SUPERNEWS Nigeria SMEs conference on June 13, 2024, at Radisson Hotel, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, starting at 10 AM.

In a statement signed by Ngozi Onyeakusi, Publisher of SUPERNEWS Nigeria, Dr. Maida was chosen to chair the event due to the NCC’s commitment to establishing a strong and credible regulatory framework. This framework aims to foster positive outcomes in the Federal Government’s financial inclusion policy, which holds significant potential for Nigeria’s economic growth and financial stability.

Dr. Maida earned an MEng in Information Systems Engineering from Imperial College, London in 2002 and a PhD in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Bath, United Kingdom, in 2006. He also completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship (FinTech Pathway) at the Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, in 2019.

The conference will gather regulators, key stakeholders in financial services and ICT sectors, and small business owners, among others. Dr. Biodun Adedipe, Founder and Chief Consultant of B. Adedipe & Associates Limited, will deliver the keynote address on the theme “Bringing SMEs into the Financial Services Network via Fintech.” Additionally, the Director General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) will officially open the event.
