Nine (9) things to know about Aliko Dangote Foundation’s National Food Intervention Programme across 774 LGAs in Nigeria
1. A Noble Mission
The Aliko Dangote Foundation’s mission is to distribute over a million 10kg bags of rice across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas.
2. Addressing Economic Challenges
This initiative aims to alleviate the economic hardships faced by Nigerians nationwide.
3. Strategic Commencement
The National Food Intervention Programme kicks-off in Kano and Lagos States, two key regions in Nigeria.
4.  Focused Allocation
120,000 bags of rice earmarked for distribution in Kano, managed in partnership with the Kano Hisbah Board.
5.  Inclusive Approach
The distribution involves collaboration with state and local governments, as well as community partners, ensuring equitable delivery to vulnerable populations regardless of social, religious, or political backgrounds.
6.  Ramadan Relief
In addition to rice distribution, 10,000 iftar meals are being provided throughout Ramadan to those in need in Kano Municipality.

The Aliko Dangote Foundation prioritizes nutrition, health, education, and economic empowerment.

The Foundation invests in food fortification initiatives, including iodized Salt, Vitamin A fortified Sugar, and research into enhancing the nutritional content of staple foods like rice and wheat.
