Eguma said he will not be surprised if the Port Harcourt club would still be involved in all the three competitions they will play in this year for a long time.

Rivers United began their pre-season preparations at home, before moving to Abuja and Kaduna.

They also played in the NPFL Super Four, where they emerged victorious.

“It has been a very rough road for us since the preseason started on November 1 but we are satisfied with what we have done thus far,” Eguma told Goal.

“We are hoping to hit the ground running based on the energy we have dissipated thus far. We are certain that we will have a fruitful season.”

“We have had the best of preparations and we are hoping to replicate all we have gained during the preseason when the season starts.

“El Kanemi Warriors will prove to be a tough side but we are convinced that with the amount of work we have done, we should be able to start the season with a good win before our fans”, he added.
