Oshoala, Oparanozie lead Cameroon 2016 squad

Super Falcons  coach Florence Omagbemi on Wednesday named  her 21-man squad for the Cameroon 2016  African Women’s Cup of Nations.

Arsenal Ladies forward Asisat Oshoala, Avant Guingamp’s Desire Oparanozie, Ebere Ngozi,  Francisca Ordega, Faith Ikidi Michael, Rita Chikwelu, Onome Ebi and Osinachi Ohale top the list as Nigeria seek their eight win in the tournament, which begins on Saturday.

However, former Nigeria midfielder Omagbemi   dropped captain Evelyn Nwabuoku from the final squad.

Nigeria, who are the defending champions of the competition, will play in Group B alongside  Kenya, Mali and Ghana. The Falcons will play their first match against Mali on Sunday.

Meanwhile,  the team departed the country for Cameroon on Wednesday to defend their title.

Midfielders: Osas Igbinovia (Bayelsa), Rita Chikwelu (Umea), Ngozi Okobi (Vittsjo), Halimatu Ayinde (Minsk), Glory Iroka (R’ Angels)

Attackers: Oparanozie (Guingamp), Oshoala (Arsenal), Chioma Wogu (R’ Angels),  Ordega (Washington), Uchechi Sunday (Icheon Diakyo), Ijeoma Obi (Sunshine), Esther Sunday (Belediyespor)
