Adesubomi Adegbite, a lawyer residing in Ibadan, had high hopes for her journey when she purchased three flight tickets from Overland Airways on March 1. However, her expectations turned into frustration when, 18 days later, neither she nor her companions had embarked on their trip, and the airline refused to issue a refund.

Adegbite recounted to FIJ how she had booked Abuja-Ibadan tickets for herself and two others, amounting to N350,000, with a scheduled departure on March 9. However, they never boarded the flight with Overland Airways.

Two days before the departure date, Adegbite received a text message from the airline, citing operational reasons for the cancellation of the flight.

Immediately after the cancellation, Adegbite applied for a refund of N350,000. Despite repeated assurances from the airline that they were processing the refund, she remained skeptical, citing various news articles online detailing the airline’s reluctance to compensate dissatisfied customers.

Several emails to Overland Airways via email for their response to the situation, but as of press time, they had not provided any comments.
