In a solemn ceremony held at the Nigeria Customs Service Training College in Ikeja, Lagos, the Acting Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, has urged the graduating Cadets of Basic Course I/2023 to uphold unwavering integrity and professionalism as they embark on their duties. This charge was delivered during the Passing Out Parade on Friday, September 28, 2023.

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including the Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Manasseh Jatau, a retired Deputy Comptroller General of Customs, senior officers of the Customs Service, and representatives from sister agencies.

The Acting CGC warmly congratulated the newly graduated cadets, welcoming them into the service with optimism for a brighter future. He bestowed upon them invaluable knowledge and skills and encouraged them to strive for excellence in serving the nation.

The address highlighted the paramount significance of discipline, ethical conduct, and the highest level of integrity in all their endeavors, reminding them that they are not just representatives of the Customs Service but also of excellence itself.Furthermore, the Acting CGC revealed an important development in the service’s training framework. Starting from the graduating officers of Course 1/2023, those in the superintendent cadre will undergo mandatory refresher courses every five years, ensuring that their skills and knowledge remain up-to-date.

The Training College Commandant, DC Haniel Hadisson, advised the cadets to maintain the remarkable discipline they had imbibed during their intensive six-month training while carrying out their official duties.

He expressed gratitude for the unwavering support provided by the Acting Comptroller General and his team.As a token of appreciation for their exceptional dedication and hard work, outstanding cadets were honored with awards during the ceremony.

In total, 81 Cadets successfully completed their intensive training and marked their graduation from the Training College, marking a significant milestone in their journey towards serving the nation through the Nigeria Customs Service.
