The Nigeria Customs Port Terminal Multi services Limited, Lagos Command known as the PTML has published its revenue generation from January to August 2021.
The Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Festus Okun says, it has generated One hundred and forty-six billion, sixteen million, Eight hundred and forty-eight thousand, six hundred and sixty-two naira (N146,016,858,662). The Command generated revenue surpasses 2020 figure by twenty-one ppercent, he noted.
Comptr Okun revealed that PTML has always improved revenue collection strategies by blocking all possible areas of leakages and shortfalls through demand notices thereby facilitating trade without compromise of National security.
He further reiterated that there has been an uninterrupted six hours clearance of imported Vehicles for compliant importers and Agents and urge Smugglers who smuggle Vehicles through land borders to desist and embrace the trade facilitation benefits put in place by PTML.
While advising importers and their agents to keep abreast of Government import and export prohibition list, to avoid violation of the law. He also urges them to be compliant by obeying Customs extant import and export guidelines and be honest in their declarations
