As drum of election scandal echo was in the news again in Kogi state, the Senate, Wednesday, mandated its Committee on INEC to probe the allegation of double registration by the Kogi State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
The committee, led by Senator Suleiman Nazif, will look into the alleged connivance with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the matter.
Senate’s attention was drawn to the allegation through Order 43 raised to that effect by Senator Mohammed Hassan (PDP, Yobe South).
Senator Hassan said the alleged act should be probed by the Upper House in the interest of credibility of the electoral process in the country.
Senator Mohammed said: “There is this situation going around regarding the governor of Kogi State.
