Stonebwoy to Feature on Globacom’s African Voices Playmakers on CNN International

The latest episode of African Voices Playmakers, generously sponsored by Globacom and airing on CNN International, will showcase Ghana’s renowned Afropop and reggae sensation, Stonebwoy, as its special guest.

 

Tune in at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday to hear Stonebwoy share the compelling narrative behind his journey to musical stardom. The episode will also re-air later the same day at 11 a.m., with additional rebroadcasts scheduled for Sunday at 3:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., as well as Monday at 3:00 a.m.

 

For those unable to catch the initial airing, the episode will be repeated the following week on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., Sunday at 4:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., and Monday at 4:00 a.m.

 

Born Livingstone Etse Satekla on March 5, 1988, in Ashaiman, Ghana’s Greater Accra region, Stonebwoy’s musical journey began in primary school, where his extraordinary talents as a lyricist and scriptwriter were first recognized.

 

Since then, Stonebwoy has risen to prominence in the Ghanaian music scene, captivating audiences with both his original compositions and interpretations of songs by his musical influences.

 

His latest album, “5th Dimension,” has been making waves in Ghana, underscoring Stonebwoy’s exceptional musical prowess. As the CEO of Burniton Music Group, he has garnered numerous accolades for his contributions to the industry.

 

In 2015, Stonebwoy clinched prestigious awards at both the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and the Africa category at the BET Awards. He has also earned multiple Billboard and Golden Club plaques, surpassing 100 million streams on Boomplay.

 

Recognized as one of Ghana’s young trailblazers, Stonebwoy was honored in 2019 as one of the top 50 young CEOs by YCEO and Avance media for his dedication to addressing societal challenges.

 

His impact extends beyond music, with three albums featuring Stonebwoy’s contributions earning nominations at the 2022 Grammy Awards. In 2022, Vodafone Ghana applauded his efforts in using his artistry to raise awareness about environmental and sustainability issues.
