The National Insurance Commission has commended the present and present councils of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria for achieving the milestone of a multi-purpose hall
The Commissioner for Insurance (CFI), Mr. Sunday O Thomas, disclosed this at the commissioning of the multi-purpose NAICOM HALL on the grounds of College of Insurance and Financial Management. Ogun State, with a seating capacity for 1,500.
Promised to redefine the insurance market, Thomas said the human development strategy of the Commission is also forging ahead with the actuarial capacity development programme with the CIFM.
According to him, the collaboration programme “is expected to develop 100 certified actuarial analysts and possibly a minimum of five (5) actuaries in Nigeria by the year 2024. This is an important component of the Commission’s strategic focus on capacity development.”
Thomas also revealed a pending request “for assistance of erudite scholars in the industry to fill the identified knowledge gaps in the regulatory system.” The commission has upscaled its human capital development to strategic focus which is anchored on digitalisation and product innovations for efficient service delivery for the market optimisation, he added.
