Two suspects in the alleged murder of Police corporal, Michael Olujimi have been arrested by operatives of the police division in Okitipupa, Ondo State.
The deceased was shot while on his way from work on Feb. 5 at Okitipupa, around 5:30 a.m
The Divisional Police Officer, DSP Oluwole Ojo, while confirming the arrest to reporters in Okitipupa said the case has been transferred to the SCID in Akure for further investigation.
He said, “Yes, we arrested some suspects in connection with the death of one of our officer: they were arrested for unlawful possession of ammunition and firearms but investigation is ongoing.
“In fact, the rifle that resembles that of the dead officer was found on one of them and they have been transferred to the SCID in Akure for further investigation.”
The DPO, however, appealed to residents to turn in any useful information to the police as he promised to rid the state of criminals terrorising Okitipupa and its environs.
“We appeal to residents to be calm as the police are on top of the situation.
“I urge them to cooperate with us by giving useful information on criminal activities and perpetrators.”
