Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Hadiza Bala Usman has charged the Executive and Management teams of the Organization to work harder in order to make Nigerian Ports competitive, efficient, effective and up-to-date in global best practices.
She advocated a technologically advanced and modern ports system in every sense of the word as part of the attainable vision of the authority under her4 watch.
According to a press statement from the NPA General Manager in charge of Public Affairs, Usman had on assumption of office pursued measures aimed at achieving ease of doing business in Nigeria through the ports.
Speaking at a Management retreat in Lagos, Usman added that on assumption of duty, she took it upon herself to face “the challenges of pursuing reform measures aimed at instituting best practices that would ensure ease of doing business in our operating and administrative processes”.
Usman added that she has implicit confidence in the caliber of workforce in NPA which are highly educated, trained and exposed in a well-established organizational structure.
In conclusion, the MD said the time has come for NPA to do things differently and in accordance with global accepted standard if we are serious about being globally competitive.
The one day strategy Management retreat had in attendance, all Executive Directors, General Managers and a cross section of high level Managers of the Organization.
