Zenith bank sponsors St. Saviours School Ikoyi to COBIS Music Competition 2019

Leading financial institution, Zenith bank sponsored a Nigerian school, St. Saviours School Ikoyi to the COBIS Music Competition 2019 in faraway Netherlands.

The event which held on May 3-5, 2019 was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate talented COBIS students from around the world through a full musical programme, providing them with the opportunity to meet and socialize with students from other countries.

The event began on the Friday evening, with a wonderful warm-up workshop led by renowned conductor, Dominic Peckham.

The competitions then took place throughout the day on Saturday. On Saturday evening, students were invited to a fun evening BBQ by Scheveningen Beach.

At the closing concert on Sunday, students performed the pieces they had learnt during the choral, orchestral and band workshops. It was a very impressive show, which demonstrated the high level of musical talent across COBIS Schools all around the world.

Meanwhile, during the musical competition, a Nigerian school, St. Saviours School Ikoyi won very big, making its sponsor (Zenith bank) and Nigeria proud.

St. Saviours School won the 1st prize in Choir Vocal Ensemble and came 3rd in Instrumental Ensemble; making her the first Nigerian and African School to win the competition.

The students were welcomed amidst funfair by Head Teacher St. Saviours School Ikoyi, Craig Heaton, Chairman Board of Management, Mr. Ade Laoye, Chairperson Co-Curricular Activities, Olayemi Edeki-Zenith Bank Group Zonal Head Ikoyi, Adobi Nwapa, and Head of Music, Mr Omole at St. Saviours School, Ikoyi.
